# READ FIRST — how to report a problem so we can actually fix it

When something misbehaves, include:

1. **ReStem version** (the Settings page shows it) and edition (Pro / Core / trial)
2. **DAW + version, OS + version** , and whether your Mac DAW runs natively or under Rosetta
3. What you did, what you expected, what happened instead
4. **The error number** if a dialog showed one — every ReStem error dialog ends with “(error N)” and that number tells us exactly where to look
5. **A field log if asked** : create a folder named `restem` on your Desktop and reproduce the problem — ReStem writes a detailed log there that you can attach. Delete the folder afterwards to stop logging.

The more of this you include up front, the faster the fix.
