I can’t seem to figure out how to capture the midi on the iPad version of Restem 2. Restem does not show up as a midi device. I’m able to insert it as an audio fx, and as a software instrument, but it isn’t capturing the midi being generated by the insert on my drum bus.

Logic Pro for iPad. I’ve seen others are having the same issue with Logic in particular.

Unfortunately Logic doesn’t support midi output from an audio plugin. It’s an issue that Logic has had for years (even on the desktop version of Logic). I am working on an update to ReStem iOS that will add a virtual midi port (similar to ReStem desktop) that will get around this limitation.
