# START HERE — installing and activating ReStem 2

1. Download the installer for your platform from your account at [restemapp.com](http://restemapp.com) (or the trial from the product page).
2. Run it. On macOS you get AU, VST3, VST, AAX and the standalone app; on Windows VST3, VST, AAX and the standalone.
3. Open ReStem (plugin or standalone) and log in with your [restemapp.com](http://restemapp.com) username and password — that’s the activation.
4. No internet on the studio machine? Post in Help & Support and we’ll walk you through it.

**Common first-run notes**

- **Pro Tools** : use the AAX; ReStem appears under Other.
- **Logic** : ReStem runs as a regular AU insert.
- **REAPER** : for the deepest integration, add ReStem as a track insert — it also supports ARA2 there.
- **ReStem 2 Core** is standalone-only by design — the plugin formats are a Pro feature.
