If the source is mono, every stem is mono — separation preserves the channel count of what you feed it.
This most often happens when the track you recorded or imported is a mono file or a mono DAW track, even though it plays through a stereo bus. Check the source clip’s channel count first; feed ReStem the stereo print if you have one.
